Editor / Import Export to RTF

  • This online demo demonstrates the import/export to RTF feature of RadEditor.

Import RTF content to the editor

The LoadRtfContent method of RadEditor class handles the RTF import feature. It has two overloads:
    1. LoadRtfContent(Stream rtfStream)
    2. LoadRtfContent(String rtfText)

Export RadEdtor's content to a RTF file

The approach is very straight-forward - to export the editor content to RTF format fire the ExportToRtf() server-side method to export the content to RTF file

You may also need to configure the exporting settings for the editor through the RadEditor.ExportSettings section. The available properties are:
    • FileName - a string specifying the name (without the extension) of the file that will be created. The file extension is automatically added based on the method that is used.
    • OpenInNewWindow - open the exported RTF in a new instead of the same page

There is additional sub-category (Rtf) for the ExportSettings dedicated on various configuration settings for the exported .rtf document. Below is a list of them:
    • PageHeader - String property, which determines the header of the RTF document.
    • HeaderFontSizeInPoints - Decimal property, which sets the font size of the header of the RTF document in points.
    • DefaultFontName - String property, which sets the default font name in the RTF document.
    • DefaultFontSizeInPoints - Decimal property, which sets the default font size in the RTF document in points.
